Now, let me be very clear about some things.  #1 - I have the same opinion of the Liberals that I have always had.  They are louses and leeches and they care only about being elected, cowtowing to special interests, and their entitlements.  It's the worst collection of wannabe legislators I have ever seen.  #2 - I am no longer a supporter of the current government.  I don't like how everything is a game, nothing seems to be happening, change is not being legislated, and the MP's on the Conservative side of the aisle seem to have quickly become what they railed against last election.  Too many embarrasments.  #3 - I still think the Bloc is an abomination and an insult to every Canadian.

Here is what I would like to see.  I would like to see Dion win a minority government.  This will bring about 2 things.  #1 - Harper will be gone, and maybe the conservatives can get a leader who is a little more centrist.  #2 - It also means that dion will get to govern for about 18 months before another election is called and he gets bounced.

Now keep in mind, this is the 4th election in 8 years.  No shit.  These things cost a few hundred million every time.  So, we are looking at almost a billion dollars, maybe more simply because of the useless system we have.  The Bloc has essentially hamstrung Canadians.  Every election they take about 40 or so seats in quebec, they dont run candidates outside of Quebec, so I do not understand how they are considered a federal party, but I digress.  The bloc will hold their seats meaning that we are doomed to have minority parliaments.  Reason is that these 40 or so seats, out of 308, are basically the swing votes.

Sure, the NDP will get 10-20 seats and that hurts too, but the Bloc is the real nail in the foot.  The NDP are basically Liberals that couldnt get nominated in my opinion.  So, 20% of the seats right off the hop are tied up in NDP and Bloc Quebecois, the other 80% are up for grabs.  To form a majority government, the Liberals or Conservatives have to win over 60% of the remaining seats, in politics, this is not an easy thing to do.

See, your grammy and grampy, your moms and your pops, all your uncles, great aunties, step fathers, and great grand-pappies twice removed on your dear old mothers side have voted for one or the other for as long as they remember, and likely for longer than you have been alive.  They arent going to let something like a platform, or the current state of affairs be part of their decision making.  They are checking the Liberal box or the Conservative box, even if the name in that Box is Mayor McCheese or Hamburglar.  The baby boomers are also the people who love to vote the most.  Only their parents vote more, but most of them are dead now.

People in the 20's barely vote, not many more in their 30's.  Those in thier 40's are a bit better, but nothing like the boomers.  They come out in droves, and as I said, they have had their mind made up who to vote for for years now.  And then there are the immigrants, the new comers to Canada.  I would not be surprised if I was told that as a group, people who have been in this country less than 15 years almost always vote, and they always vote for whomever was government when they landed.  Sadly,  I think, unless we start turfing the old boys who have been holding seats for a generation, we are not likely to see any real change in Canada.

Here's my plan, get our lazy asses out to vote.  Vote for whoever you think is going to come in second place.  If you riding has a liberal, vote Tory and vice-versa.  I cant do that.  we have a Tory but the Liberals made a deal with Bette Macdonald of the Green party and they will not run a candidate against her.  I will vote NDP.  If you have ever complained about government, taxes, or 'those god-damn immigrants' now's your chance to go vote and try to make a change.

WHEN I WAS 33..... - August 22, 2008

I remember being 16 like it was yesterday, blink an eye and you are 33 with a wife and some kids.  No complaints mind you but it sure can sneak up on you. 

I guess that is why I always take time for the kids, especially when I don't feel like it.  I know soon enough I will be 50 and they will be 20 and 18.  Same goes for my wife, never enough time for us, so I like when we do get to do things together.

Aside from that, I am happy to be here.  I wouldn't change much, if anything.  I like where I am at and I am happy with what I have.  So, enough about me, lets talk about 33!

1. Jesus was said to be 33 when he was crucified (in 33 a.d.).  It is also a religious belief that 33 is the numerical representation of good triumphing over evil.
2. 33 is the largest prime number that cannot be expressed as a sum of different triangular numbers?
3. 33 is the atomic number of arsenic.
4. Muslims believe that when you go to Muslim heaven, you live perpetually as a 33 year old.  This is unrelated to the virgin promised suicide bombers.
5. 33 is the number both Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul Jabbar played.  There are others, but not as cool.  Looking at you Pippen.
6. 33 is one of the numerology master numbers along with 11 and 22.
7. 33 bones in the spine, unless you are a mutant.

Fantasy Football, Facebook Style - August 18, 2008

As it turns out Facebook is working with Sports Illustrated to add fantasy footbal to Facebook.  I created a league there and would like to invite any of you who have a facebook account to sign up for an ass kicking.

WEEZER, The Red Album - August 15, 2008

Anyway, Homeboys are back with a new album.  It came out in June and I believe it's called the Red Album unofficially. 

Curtis played some of it for me last month on vacation and I loved it.  I have been playing the shit out of it ever since.  Pork and Beans was the first single.  It is really good and the video is wicked. 

But the song I love best is called Im The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived.  One of the coolest songs I have heard in years.

They do a cover of The Weight from The Band which is pretty tight too.  But honestly I find every single song is Mintos Kimmy.  I dont think I have been as into a CD since American Idiot came out a couple years ago.

As expected the movie was funny throughout.  It looked pretty good too.  I must admit I am a vegetation fan and this was mainly jungle.  So, woo-hoo.  But back to the movie.  It didn't make fun of mentally challenged people, it made fun of ignorant people who still use the word retard to describe the mentally challenged.  There is a picture of my dad cut out of a newspaper from the 70's handing a check to a charity on behalf of the kinsmen, there is a man with Downs Syndrome in the photo as well.  The caption from the newspaper says KINSMEN HELP THE RETARDED.  My point is that it wasn't meant in a bad way in the article, and this movie is no different.  They use the word to show how ignorant some people are.  Same way Ed Norton said all of the anti black and Jew slurs in American History X.  Part of the character.

No, no one gets it harder than Hollywood types.  Actors, agents, assistants, producers, FX guys, etc and that's the point of the whole movie.  To show how delusional, needy, ignorant, and sad most of these people are below their exteriors.  anyone taking offence to this movie is looking to be offended and wasted the price of admission.

Tom Cruise and Matthew McConnauhy have small, hilarious roles in this movie.  Especially Cruise.  I left the movie thinking that people will stop picking on him soon because of this role.  It's funny as hell, and I'm not sure it would have been as good if it wasn't TC. 

The movie didn't drag along anywhere, and I wasn't sitting, thinking it was about a half hour too long like I did with Pineapple Express.  All in all it was a funny movie, with a somewhat original plot line, and some really good parts I wasn't expecting.  Worth the money, and definitely worth ignoring anyone with a picket sign.

CHINALAND - August 13, 2008

I'm a fan of the Olympics.  Well, the summer Olympics anyway.

I like the track and field.  The Pole vault amazes me, it just doesn't seem possible.  I also like the hammer throw, the discus, the javelin, and the high jump.  They are a lot of fun to watch and you get the occasional wipe out.  People seemed pumpt about swimming, but honestly, there are no wipe outs in the pool.  So, I am not interested.

I wonder why pro athletes are allowed to play at the games, but pro-boxers never seem to box at the games? 

I am finding this Olympics to be super entertaining, even though my fav sports haven't started yet.  The Chinese are keeping me entertained with their craziness.  First, the little girl singing in the opening ceremony was lip synching.  The reason is that the girl who was really singing wasn't cute enough to be the modern face of communism.  The girl was cute as hell, but so was the other girl who actually sang the song.  Then there is the women's gymnastics team from China.  There are at least 3 under age girls on the team, one of them 14 years old.  LOL.  The Chinese government has been faking their passports to get them in and get some gold.  There is also the fireworks show on the opening ceremonies, apparently most of it was taped and edited, so not much of a show. 

Too funny that the most populous nation on earth feels so insecure about themselves that they resort to lying, cheating, and trickery.  If the world were a high school, China would be the bully who is secretly afraid that no one likes them and bullies as a result.  The US would be the super hot chick with the butt head boyfriend.  Canada a tiny nerd or geek that is always getting a nose bleed.

There are other strange things happening there.  Like some middle east athletes are refusing to compete in races with Israeli contestants.  You know, cause Jews are evil land grabbers and Allah wants them dead.  That old chestnut.  But it's kind of a half measure I think.  If they meant business they would simply not come to the games on principle.  Instead, I think they are choosing the events they had no chance in anyway and boycotting those.  Don't believe me, watch how many hijabs you count in Ladies Judo.

But my favourite thing about the games is looking for hotty athletes.  There are way more of them in the summer games than the winter games.  And I cant stand the winter games.  Friggin hockey all the time.  Considering the team we send, I don't think we should ever lose the gold, but anyway.....  Hotness.

When I have some free time, I like to search on the hottest athletes in the games.  They can be hard to find though, as most of these lists are made by lonely nyerds from North America and don't have a very international outlook.  But I try to improve on their weak assed lists and make my own Top Hotty Lists of female Olympians.

This year I kept feeling like I shouldn't be objectifying women like this, and that maybe some of the more homely athletes were very nice people.  Then I realized I was not making a list of Nicest Female Athletes, I was making a list of ones I'd give a tickle too if I weren't such a happily married man and somehow they called me up offering to 'get down'.  But I am, so even when they call I says "No thank you, I loves my wife!  I will let you know if something changes!".

So, I started going through the A's.  I got through the A's and realized that I was never going to finish in time.  It took hours just for one letter.  The whole alphabet would take weeks, and the games would be over and no one would care about this.  Not that anyone cares now, but I can fool myself into thinking that someone out there does.  Anyway, I did lots of Google searches for key phrases and researched the names I found.  It was all very scientific, so much so I thought of wearing a lab coat during the process.

Now, I did my best to find the official Olympic shots of the athletes and the more mainstream, non athlete shots of them as well.  For the most part, they don't look very good in their athlete shots, some look terrible, but the money shot is there as well to show I knows what I am talking about.  I figure the bad athlete shots are from them travelling 23 hours to China and getting a picture as soon as they get to the Olympic village.

Here are some of the results, I will post more as they come along, but not a bad start.  Remember, these are the Olympic shots and are bad, click the names in blue for better photos.  There might be more to come if I get around to it.  Feel free to post any you think should be listed in the guestbook.

HARD WEEK ON BLACK ENTERTAINMENT - August 10, 2008

ARTISTS RENDERING OF THE BLACK ENTERTAINER VIRUS

Now I know what you are saying, "Then why hasn't Puff Daddy died yet?".  We'll no doubt he was one of the main targets of this virus, him, Little Jon, the Chocolate Rain guy, and that really really black guy who was in 50 cents movie that always plays a bad ass, I think he was in American Gangster too.

Anyway, I think this virus was originally invented back in 03 when they took out Johnny Cash and John ritter on the same day. 

Originally invented by Al Sharpton as a defense against the mainly white IRS who were 'harassing' the rev.  It was quickly co-opted by the CIa and is now apparently being targeted against black entertainers.

BET is off the air, don't believe me, chekkit.  Nothing but gospel re-runs.  Spike Lee is hiding out in a bunker with Sidney Poitier and Denzel, they may or may not be playing domino's.  Only the three of them know for sure.

Now, it is possible I am wrong, but it's unlikely.  POSSIBLY, it could just be a matter of Bernie Mac dying and Isaac Hayes kind of freaking out a little and deciding that he should get some exercise, then overdoing it and dropping dead on the treadmill.  But thats kind of a long shot.

No matter what (it's totally a CIA virus) Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes were awesome entertainers.  I will miss Bernie Mac, he was funny as shit.  Hayes best work was behind him, but the man that wrote and performed Shaft and Chocolate Salty Balls will alwasy be a legend.

Here is my bet on things.  He is mentally ill, but was not receiving proper treatment.  Has a history of violent outbursts and has been arrested before for violence.  Off his meds for sure.  He has been in Canada for 10 years.  Has no wife/kids etc.  Thats my guess.

One of these videos is from the scanner the night it happened, so it's the cops trying figure things out.

HALF PRICE MOVIES - August 1, 2008

It arrived about 5 minutes later, and I noticed that there is nothing on it saying it was uniques.  I read again and there is no limit on how many times I can print or use this.  There are no markings or barcodes to even identify it was mine.  so, I am sharing with you. 

Print this out and head to the show, buy one adult admission, get one free.  Sarah used one two nights ago, no issues.

There are some restrictions.  It cant be used on Tuesdays.  It can't be used when a movie is listed online as NO PASSES ACCEPTED.  These are the only restrictions.  Usually when a movie is expected to make lots of cash, they wont let you use a pass, but Batman was the only one not accepting passes last week.  Click Here to Download.

I will be adding The Mummy to the SEENEDED IT section tonight and Pineapple Express on Wednesday.  aside from Journey to the Centre of the Earth, the rest are not out yet.  But I plan to see them all.  BTW, there is a new Harry Potter trailer out for The Half Blood Prince.  Looks pretty good.  Not really seeming like its as geared to kids as it once was.  Should be awesome though.
